LWR is seeking resumes for upcoming positions within its Africa Regional Team. Upcoming positions will be based in Baltimore and will seek candidates who can provide administrative and project support for programs in Africa.
Project management and administration
Grants and contracts management
New Business Development and Positioning
Deep commitment to LWR's core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners.
Master's degree in a field relevant to international development, or Bachelor's degree with equivalent job experience.
Five to seven years' experience working in a program-related, administrative capacity required. Experience with an international development or humanitarian agency is highly preferred.
Knowledge of key development and economic and social justice issues at a practical and policy level. Practical and intellectual familiarity with the specific countries in Africa where LWR works.
Ability to conduct written and spoken business in English. Professional level proficiency in written and spoken French.
Experience in project design, monitoring, and evaluation, as well as an understanding of the project budgeting process.
Ability to travel up to 25% percent of her/his time, primarily in Africa, including to, potentially dangerous or adverse conditions and/or disaster zones.
Strong time management skills; ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
Experience with US Government, other bi- and multi-lateral, and foundation donor funding a plus, specifically related to developing, negotiating, managing grant and contract agreements with donors; with experience negotiating sub-grants and/or sub-contracts with implementing organizations.
