1. Collaborate with Director, Creative Services, and other colleagues to develop and implement an audience-centric communication strategy that increases LWR visibility across multiple channels. Serve as one of LWR's senior writers and editors for the web, print publications, presentations and speeches. 2. Manage production of communications projects - print, video, web and other communication materials for ER, IPD, NBD, and President's Office - and ensure production and dissemination deadlines are met. This includes: - Create, or lead other staff in creating, a detailed project brief for each new communication project, including timeline, budget, workflow process, intended audience, distribution plan and expected outcomes.
- Create and manage budget lines for projects including print publications, videos and e-communications.
- Write and edit copy and video scripts and/or assign and oversee writing and editing
- Provide input on design and production specifications
- When relevant, manage external vendors affiliated with communication projects
- Grant final sign-off/approval for projects prior to printing or publication
- Create and maintain shared internal calendar or other system to track ongoing and upcoming projects
- In collaboration with marketing team, review measurable results and make recommendations based on data analysis
3. Supervise LWR's Staff Writer and other Creative Services staff to be added in future years. 4. Support and promote LWR branding and messaging in consultation with VP for ER, ER Directors, Director, NBD and Director, PPA and in close coordination with in-house and/or freelance graphic designers. 5. Develop and enforce systems, procedures and protocols for managing workflow of communication projects, including process for requesting, budgeting/expensing, creating and disseminating materials. 6. Lead Creative Services' role in interdepartmental teams including Constituent Relationship Management Team and Direct Mail Strategy Group 7. Serve as acting director, creative services when supervisor is away from office. 8. Ensure quality communication input from field offices, establish protocols/processes for submissions from the field and act as liaison with field-based staff providing stories, photos and video to HQ for use in US-based communications. 9. Responsible and accountable for engaging US Lutherans effectively in the work of LWR and ensuring that LWR's work in marginalized communities is of the highest quality and integrity. 10. Familiarity and compliance with LWR's safety and security procedures and protocols when traveling. 11. Willingness and ability to contribute to LWR's New Business Development initiatives. 12.
