| Description: | The Web Developer manages back-end website maintenance, supports LWR staff in using web technologies, manages LWR's online photo library, and leads on other technical aspects of LWR's online presence, positioning LWR to take advantage of the rapid changes in communication technology and their impact on how our supporters interface with us online. |
| Duties: | - Design and develop pages on LWR's websites using content management systems and current web technology. With internal web team staff, develop and implement web-based applications and solutions. Update and manage content, structure and functionality of organizational websites, including lwr.org, lutheranmalaria.org and lwrgifts.org
Work with Social Marketing Manager and Digital Media Manager to analyze site and social networking metrics and make recommendations based on those metrics. Manage LWR's online photo and video archive, including training and supporting users, approving uploads, and ensuring consistency of tagging schemes. Manage and troubleshoot LWR's custom storefront and shopping-cart technology Responsible and accountable for engaging US Lutherans effectively in the work of LWR and ensuring that LWR's work in marginalized communities is of the highest quality and integrity. Familiarity and compliance with LWR's safety and security procedures and protocols when traveling. Willingness and ability to contribute to LWR's New Business Development initiatives. Engagement in ongoing professional development Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field Two to three years of professional experience Demonstrated skill in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Information Architecture (IA), User Interface (UI) design, User Experience (UX), User Testing, and content management systems (CMSs) Experience with mobile websites and responsive web templates strongly recommended Demonstrated ability to train clients/staff and answer technical questions in simple language Experience with E-Commerce, payment gateways and retail website development preferredKnowledge of Flash, ActionScript, Java, Facebook Apps, XML or other API programming a plus Familiarity and comfort with faith-based organizations Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to maintain strong professional relationships with a diverse range of colleagues in different locations. Highly creative, with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills Proven organizational skills, with experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Able to adapt to changing circumstances in a busy environment Demonstrated ability to take initiative, set and meet deadlines, and follow through on projects and policies
